Philanthropy and volunteer leadership have been a key part of my annual goal setting process . I volunteer at least once each month, and get great joy from helping others in my community — those who could use mentoring, or those who could benefit from learning.

2021 and the pandemic provided some challenges to volunteering, as my work continued to be 100% virtual. Still, I managed to find many ways to give back.

Here are a few examples of how I have given back this year.

International Coach Federation — New England Chapter: I served as a member of the Education and Professional Development committee of the International Coach Federation, New England Chapter, for the first half of the year. This committee is responsible for the development of all educational events.

WBECS: World Business and Executive Coaching Summit : I am a facilitator for WBECS pre-summit and Summit in 2021, leading debrief workshops for participants from around the world.

Massachusetts Conference for Women : This December, I will be volunteering as a Coach through the New England International Coach Federation at this massive event that supports Women’s development and leadership. I am part of a large team of coaches that gives back at this amazing event for over 10,000 participants!

Out & Equal Workplace Summit : I facilitated a virtual workshop for hundreds of folx on ways to sustain LGBTQIA+ optimism, resilience and grit.

Granite State Learning and Organizational Development Round Table: As the founder and co-chair of this 11 year-old professional association, I have led annual planning, scheduling of meetings, managing membership, and serving as the spokesperson for the group. This organization is free to members and my management of this group is voluntary.

In what ways are you giving back to your community personally or professionally? Be sure to check out the organizations that I have listed above. Please share in the comments. If you have specific questions, ask me. I’m happy to help.
